Agriculture Sector

The agricultural sector is a vital pillar of food security in Syria, as no national economy can achieve stability and sustainability without a strong and diversified agricultural base. The sector contributes to providing food for the population, supplying raw materials for the food, textile, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as creating widespread employment, especially in rural areas. Given this importance, the Syrian Development Fund works to support and finance agricultural projects that enhance production efficiency and achieve comprehensive rural development. The fund pays special attention to supporting farmers, enabling them to access necessary financing to purchase agricultural inputs, and introducing modern agricultural technologies. It also finances protected and organic farming projects, supports livestock and poultry initiatives, enhancing self-sufficiency, reducing imports, and minimizing negative impacts on natural resources. Additionally, through its support, the fund empowers rural women and youth, contributing to the development of local communities and reducing poverty and unemployment rates in rural areas. From this perspective, the Syrian Development Fund emerges as a key entity supporting and financing agricultural projects, particularly those related to sustainable agriculture, as they have a direct impact on strengthening community stability, providing safe food products, and achieving long-term sustainable development. Future efforts focus on strategic axes aimed at developing and enhancing the efficiency of the agricultural sector.
